AIDA Announces Its First World Cruise, Departing from Warnemünde in 2028

AIDA’s AIDAmar will embark on the company’s first world cruise from Warnemünde on November 3, 2028. The 142-day voyage will visit 51 ports across 19 countries and five continents, concluding in Hamburg on March 25, 2029.

The ship will cross the equator twice and the International Date Line once. Twelve overnight stays will give passengers extra time in selected destinations.

South America and the South Pacific

After departing Warnemünde, the AIDAmar will call at destinations including the Isle of Portland, A Coruña, Gran Canaria and Santiago before crossing the Atlantic to Recife, Brazil. The South American itinerary includes Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Tierra del Fuego, Cape Horn and Patagonia’s fjords and glaciers.

The voyage will then continue to Easter Island and the South Pacific. Christmas is planned in French Polynesia, followed by New Year’s Eve in Suva, Fiji.

New Zealand and Australia

In New Zealand, the ship will visit six ports across the North and South Islands, including Auckland, Napier, Wellington and Picton. The route will also pass through Marlborough Sound and Milford Sound.

The Australian leg includes 11 ports—the most on any AIDA cruise to date—including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns and Geraldton. Overnight stays are planned in Sydney, Darwin, Broome and Perth/Fremantle.

Return to Europe via the Indian Ocean and Africa

After circumnavigating Australia, the ship will sail across the Indian Ocean to Mauritius and Réunion. Longer calls in Port Louis, Mauritius; Gqeberha and Cape Town, South Africa; and Walvis Bay, Namibia, will provide time for safaris, desert excursions and visits around Table Mountain.

The AIDAmar will then round the Cape of Good Hope and head back toward Europe via Cape Verde.

Prices start at €20,995 per person for two guests sharing an inside cabin. The Premium fare includes a €4,000 Early Bird Plus discount.

AIDA’s 2026–27 world cruise is scheduled to depart Hamburg aboard the AIDAsol on October 18.
