The ship, operated by American Cruise Lines, is not in Erie to pick up passengers. But the visit comes ahead of a major tourism development: Erie is expected to become an official cruise ship destination in summer 2028.
Tourism is already the city’s third-largest industry, and cruise service is expected to bring more visitors to Erie.
