Mystic Cruises Prepares to Launch Its Antarctic Season This Month

Mystic Cruises is preparing its fleet and crews for the start of its Antarctic season, which runs from November 2026 through March 2027.

The season is scheduled to begin with World Navigator on November 8, followed by World Voyager on November 10 and World Traveller on November 21. World Voyager was en route to Ushuaia, expected to arrive November 6, while World Navigator was due there the following day. World Traveller was crossing the Atlantic.

Preparations include readying Zodiacs and expedition equipment, coordinating embarkation, and maintaining onboard navigation, technical, medical, communications, food-service and housekeeping operations.

Antarctic itineraries can change frequently in response to weather, sea conditions, ice, wildlife behavior and operational needs. The Expedition Leader and Assistant Expedition Leader work with the ship’s Master and bridge team to assess conditions and proposed landing sites.

As a member of the International Association of Antarctica Tour Operators, Mystic Cruises follows the organization’s expedition guidelines. For the 2026–27 season, these include precautions addressing avian influenza and other wildlife diseases, alongside established biosecurity measures and rules for keeping distance from wildlife.
