Resorts World Cruises has announced the forthcoming inclusion of the Genting Dream cruise ship to utilize the historical Melaka port as an access point to Kuala Lumpur (Klang, Malaysia) for its 2-night journeys departing from Singapore every Sunday, commencing on November 10, 2024.
This initiative provides travelers an exceptional opportunity for double visits to both Melaka and Kuala Lumpur, with expanded berth durations of 10 to 12 hours that facilitate comprehensive exploration periods.
The Genting Dream will moor near Melaka City, presenting picturesque views of both the coastline and terrain. Tourists disembarking in Melaka will be greeted with a brief tender boat passage on the Melaka River to the modern Immigration, Customs, Quarantine and Security Complex (ICQS). A short 15-minute stroll from this point leads into the core of Melaka, a UNESCO World Heritage Site distinguished by its red colonial architectures at Dutch Square and the vibrant Jonker Street, renowned for its retail, gastronomy, and cultural scene. Alternatively, explorers may choose to use riverboats on the Melaka River to discover this historic city’s blend of Portuguese, Dutch, and British architectural influences complemented by murals, parks, and vivid storefronts along the river sidewalks.
Additionally, every two weeks on Mondays, tourists can commence their cruise travel from Melaka via the ICQS Complex, integrating a leisurely Melaka getaway with a one-way 3-night journey routing through Melaka-Singapore-Penang-Kuala Lumpur (via Port Klang).
