HAL-Holland America Announces Updated Itinerary for 2026 Grand World Voyage Aboard ms Volendam
HAL-Holland America Line has unveiled modifications to its 2026 Grand World Voyage aboard the ms Volendam ship.
The newly modified route now includes stops in East and Southeast Asia, Central America, and the USA, featuring a Panama Canal transit.
This itinerary adjustment replaces the earlier planned route through the Suez Canal/Red Sea.
After consultations with global security specialists and taking regional circumstances into account, Holland America has decided to reroute the journey, affecting the last 54 days and extending the overall trip from 132 to 133 days due to crossing the International Dateline. The updated voyage will cover 51 unique ports across 23 nations and territories on five continents, concluding as planned on May 17th, 2026, in Fort Lauderdale (Florida USA).
Following an overnight stop in Singapore, Volendam will head north to Vietnam, visiting Phu My/Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, and Halong Bay/Hanoi. The ship will then stay overnight in Hong Kong China before proceeding to Kaohsiung and Keelung (Taipei), Taiwan.
The journey through Japan includes six ports, with overnight stays in Nagasaki and Tokyo, before Volendam sails across the Pacific. Highlights in North America feature stops in Kodiak, Sitka, and Ketchikan, Alaska, along with additional calls along the U.S. Pacific Coast in Seattle and San Diego. The ship will then head south, making stops in Manzanillo and Puerto Chiapas, Mexico, as well as Acajutla, El Salvador, followed by an overnight in Fuerte Amador (Panama City) and a Panama Canal crossing, before heading to Cartagena (Colombia) and concluding the journey in Fort Lauderdale.
Prices for the 2026 Grand World Voyage start at US$30,354 per person, inclusive of taxes and fees, based on double occupancy. Beginning November 13, travelers can book segments ranging from 21 to 55 days that emphasize the new sections of the itinerary. Notable segments include:
