Port Tampa Bay Announces Grand Re-Opening: What You Need to Know
Port Tampa Bay has officially resumed operations for vessels, and the shipping channels are now reopened. However, vessel movements will be limited to daylight hours, as announced on Saturday.
During the storm, Port Tampa Bay worked closely with various federal, state, and local agencies, along with the maritime community, to tackle the challenges brought by Hurricane Milton.
With the cooperation of the Port Heavy Weather Advisory Group, and after thorough evaluations of the port, waterways, and channels, the U.S. Coast Guard has announced the reopening of the port and established a normal condition with restrictions to daylight hours and one-way traffic. Port staff conducted a complete safety assessment of the docks, wharves, and terminals.
Among the earliest vessels to re-enter will be fuel tankers, cruise ships, and ships transporting perishable goods.
There will be adjustments made to the cruise schedules for several lines, including Carnival Paradise, Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas, Grandeur of the Seas, Enchantment of the Seas, and Margaritaville at Sea Islander.
