Oceania Sirena Makes Her Maiden Visit to the Historic Port of Dover
The Port of Dover marked the first arrival of Oceania Cruises’ Sirena on October 15, as stated in a press release.
The Sirena made its entry during a 22-day journey from Stockholm to Amsterdam, which commenced on September 26. Guests had the opportunity to disembark and take part in day trips to some of Kent’s renowned attractions such as its castles, cathedrals, gardens, and vineyards, according to the port’s announcement.
Peter Wright, who oversees cruise operations at the Port of Dover, expressed his enthusiasm, stating: “It was a pleasure to welcome Sirena, the Oceania Cruises team, and their guests to Dover on this wonderful autumn day. Dover makes a fantastic port of call at this time of year, allowing guests to get a glimpse of Kent’s rich culture, heritage, and countryside in just one day. There are hidden gems around every corner of the county and for those desiring to venture a bit further, London is conveniently accessible. We are very fortunate to have all of this so close.”
Jason Worth, Oceania Cruises’ vice president of international sales, also shared his thoughts: “It’s always thrilling to introduce a ship to a port for the first time, as it provides our guests with the chance to discover a new destination, regardless of whether it’s their second, tenth, or fifteenth cruise with us. Visiting Dover allowed our guests to appreciate one of England’s most iconic maritime spots, and they were truly taken by the area’s scenic beauty and historical allure.”
The ship departed from Dover in the evening, making its way to Antwerp, Belgium, and ultimately concluding its journey in Amsterdam, Holland, on October 17.
