CCL-Carnival Cruise Line Celebrates 20 Years and 3 Million Guests from Jacksonville
Marking two decades of sailing from Jacksonville, CCL-Carnival Cruise Line held a celebration on November 7, highlighting its long-standing partnership with JAXPORT and dedication to the local community. Since its inaugural year in 2004, the cruise line has welcomed 3 million passengers from the port, with an annual increase of 150,000 guests, solidifying its position as Jacksonville’s premier cruise line.
During the celebration aboard the Carnival Elation, local leaders and guests took part in a ceremony that honored military service in advance of Veterans Day. Notably, Jackson, a service dog provided through Carnival’s collaboration with K9s for Warriors—a nonprofit that trains dogs to assist veterans—was introduced by the organization’s CEO, Daniel Bean. The event featured tributes to veterans and active military personnel, underlining Carnival’s commitment to the service community.
Earlier this year, Carnival solidified its future in Jacksonville by signing a new agreement to operate from JAXPORT through 2026, with options to extend through 2030. Currently, the Carnival Elation is homeported in Jacksonville, offering itineraries ranging from 4 to 7 days to The Bahamas and Eastern Caribbean. In 2025, Jacksonville sailings will include visits to Celebration Key, Carnival’s newest private destination set to open in July.
