FBI Probes Death of Unruly Cruise Ship Passenger Amid Alarming Threats
A 35-year-old man died on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship, sparking an FBI investigation after he was reported to be unruly and bound by crew members. The incident occurred while the ship was traveling from Los Angeles to Ensenada, Mexico. According to fellow passenger Christifer Mikhail, the man appeared intoxicated, threatened fellow passengers, and acted violently before being subdued by crew members using zip ties and pepper spray.
Mikhail recounted that the man had shouted violent threats and chased other passengers down the hallway. Videos captured during the incident showed him kicking a door and behaving aggressively toward the crew. After this altercation, multiple crew members were seen surrounding the man, who was later found unresponsive on the floor of the ship’s corridor.
Traveling with his fiancée and young son, the man died aboard the Navigator of the Seas, though the cause of death remains unclear at this time. In response to the tragedy, Royal Caribbean expressed sadness and stated they are cooperating with authorities during the ongoing investigation by the FBI, which began when agents responded to the ship to look into the incident that led to the man’s death.
