Search Concludes for Missing 51-Year-Old Man Overboard from Norwegian Epic
Norwegian Cruise Line confirmed that the search for a 51-year-old passenger who went overboard from the Norwegian Epic was concluded without success. The incident took place on December 26 during a cruise that was traveling from Jamaica to the Bahamas.
The passenger, traveling with a large group, fell overboard while the ship was en route from Ocho Rios, Jamaica, to Nassau, Bahamas, around 3:00 p.m. Upon realizing the incident, the cruise line immediately informed relevant authorities, and a search and rescue operation was launched, coordinated by the Bahamas Rescue Coordination Center.
Despite extensive efforts over the following days, the search did not recover the individual, and the Norwegian Epic was cleared by officials to continue its voyage. Norwegian Cruise Line expressed their condolences to the family, who were on board and receiving support from the crew during this challenging time.
