Thessaloniki Port Kicks Off 2025 Cruise Season with Celebrity Infinity Arrival
On February 4, 2025, the Port of Thessaloniki in Greece welcomed its cruise season for the second consecutive year with the arrival of the Celebrity Infinity ship from Celebrity Cruises. The vessel docked at high capacity and remained overnight, departing on February 5. Passengers were greeted by representatives from the Region of Central Macedonia, the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, and ThPA SA, who provided them with informative materials and traditional local sweets.
In 2025, Celebrity Infinity is scheduled to call at Thessaloniki 21 times, including eight overnight stays, giving tourists plenty of time to explore the city’s rich culture and attractions. The cruise sector in Thessaloniki is experiencing significant growth, with 20 different ships from 14 major companies adding the port to their itineraries. Noteworthy is that 10 vessels are making their inaugural visit to Thessaloniki this year. For example, the Viking Star from Viking Cruises is set to make its first call on February 6.
Additionally, other cruise lines, such as Astoria Grande, Emerald Cruises, and Ritz Carlton, are also including Thessaloniki in their routes for the first time, demonstrating a dynamic arrival schedule. Athanasios Liagkos, Executive Chairman of ThPA SA, highlighted the advantages of Thessaloniki’s location as a homeport and its accessibility to global landmarks, underscoring the ongoing enhancements in services and infrastructure that foster trust among cruise companies.
Notably, in 2025, Crystal Cruises will feature Thessaloniki as a homeport for its Crystal Symphony, reaffirming its commitment to providing exceptional experiences for passengers.
