Fincantieri Celebrates Delivery of Norwegian Aqua to Norwegian Cruise Line
Fincantieri has announced the successful delivery of the Norwegian Aqua, marking a significant milestone as the inaugural ship in the expanded Prima Plus Class for Norwegian Cruise Line. The delivery ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Marghera shipyard, attended by key executives from both Fincantieri and Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, including Fincantieri’s Chairman, Biagio Mazzotta, and Norwegian’s President and CEO, Harry Sommer.
The Norwegian Aqua has a gross tonnage of 156,300 and measures approximately 322 meters in length, making it 10 percent larger than the previous ships in the Prima Class, namely the Norwegian Prima and Norwegian Viva. Following the Aqua’s delivery, Fincantieri is set to launch its sister ship, the Norwegian Luna, scheduled for debut on March 14, 2025, with hopes for it to commence operations in Spring 2026.
