£6M Investment Boosts Cruise Berths at Port Dover

The Port of Dover in England has completed a significant £6 million upgrade to its cruise berths, enhancing its capacity to accommodate some of the largest cruise liners in the world. This renovation is part of a larger vision for the port that stretches through to 2050, aiming to solidify Dover’s status as one of the UK’s top cruise destinations.

Peter Wright, the Head of Cruise at the Port, expressed pride in this achievement, highlighting the efforts of the engineering and operations teams who made the project a reality. As the 2025 season is well underway, he noted the growing variety of cruise ships visiting Dover, bringing in thousands of tourists weekly during peak times. This strategic plan promises to maintain the port’s leadership in the cruise industry while also boosting the local economy.

Sonia Limbrick, the Head of Business Development for Cruise at the Port, mentioned the unique attractions that Dover offers to cruise travelers, including its rich history and excellent service. She is eager to strengthen partnerships with cruise lines to ensure that Dover remains a favored stop on international cruise itineraries.

The Port’s Cruise team intends to highlight these recent advancements at the upcoming Seatrade Cruise Global conference in Miami, Florida, from April 7-10, where they will engage with attendees about the future developments at the port.
