Adora Magic City Expands Coastal Operations Beyond Shanghai

China’s first large domestically built cruise ship, Adora Magic City, has officially launched its coastal operations beyond its homeport of Shanghai. The ship docked at Qingdao International Cruise Home Port on April 6, 2025, marking a significant milestone since the vessel began its commercial service earlier on January 1, 2024.

The embarkation from Qingdao initiated a 5-day, 4-night international cruise with over 4,000 passengers, featuring stops at Jeju, South Korea, and Fukuoka, Japan. A repeat itinerary is set to begin from Qingdao on April 10, 2025.

Measuring 323.6 meters in length and weighing 136,200 gross tons, the Adora Magic City is designed with 2,125 cabins and suites adhering to international comfort standards. Its name is inspired by Shanghai’s nickname, "Magic City." Since its launch, the vessel has completed over 100 sailings and is operated by Adora Cruises, which also manages the ship Mediterranea. Together, these ships have accommodated more than 560,000 passengers.

Adora Cruises is currently in the process of developing its next vessel, Adora Flora City, with hull assembly already complete. The new ship is expected to be delivered by the end of 2026 and will be homeported in Guangzhou, also known as the "Flower City," where it will initiate international cruise services.
