Kicking Off the 2025 Cruise Season at the Port of Cork: What to Expect!

On April 13, 2025, the Port of Cork officially kicked off its cruise season with the arrival of the MS Ambition in Cobh. This ship, part of the Ambassador Cruise Line, is 216 meters (709 feet) long and can carry up to 1,200 passengers across 680 cabins.

Throughout the season, which runs from April to November 2025, the Port of Cork is set to welcome 93 cruise ships. The cruise industry is expected to inject about EUR 17 million into the local economy, with passengers spending an average of EUR 81 onshore, while crew members spend approximately EUR 29.

Conor Mowlds, Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Cork Company and Chairperson of Cruise Ireland, stated that the port is looking forward to a mix of vessels arriving from destinations like the United States, Canada, and various European countries. He highlighted the port’s dedication to working with partners to ensure top-notch facilities and a memorable experience for both passengers and crew.
