
Kicking Off the 2025 Cruise Season at the Port of Cork: What to Expect
On April 13, 2025, the Port of Cork Company marked the official start of its 2025 cruise season with the arrival of the MS Ambition in Cobh. This ship, part of Ambassador Cruise Line, measures 216 meters (709 feet) and can accommodate up to 1,200 passengers across 680 staterooms.
For the season, Port Cork is set to welcome 93 cruise ships from April to November, contributing approximately EUR 17 million to the local economy. On average, passenger spending is estimated at EUR 81, while crew members are expected to spend around EUR 29.
Conor Mowlds, the Chief Commercial Officer at the Port of Cork Company and Chairperson of Cruise Ireland, expressed excitement about the diverse range of vessels expected this year, originating from countries such as the USA, Canada, and several European nations. He reaffirmed the port’s dedication to working with partners to ensure top-notch facilities and memorable experiences for passengers and crew alike.
