Norwegian Cruise Line Announces 2025 Drydock Refurbishments for Norwegian Epic and Pride of America

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced drydock refurbishments for two of its ships, Norwegian Epic and Pride of America, aimed to be completed ahead of the 2025 summer season.

Norwegian Epic will undergo a three-week refurbishment, set to finish by May 8, 2025. The upgrades include the addition of a new hot tub on Deck 18 and a redesigned Kids’ Aqua Park, replacing the previous SplashGolf area. The Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only venue, will be expanded to have an extra hot tub, more lounge chairs, and new private cabanas. Furthermore, eight new staterooms, including both balcony and ocean view categories, will be added. After the refurbishments, Norwegian Epic will offer a series of 9 to 11-day cruises from Rome (Civitavecchia), visiting various Mediterranean and Aegean/Greek Isles destinations such as Santorini, Mykonos, Valletta, Naples, Catania, and Livorno. Once the European sailing season concludes, the ship will reposition to San Juan, Puerto Rico, for 7-day Southern Caribbean itineraries.

Pride of America is scheduled for a refurbishment from May 3 to May 31, 2025. This enhancement includes a new Starbucks in The Capitol Atrium (Deck 5) and the addition of a pickleball court in the sports area. The ship will see the introduction of 12 new Club Balcony Suites and three inside staterooms on Deck 12. The youth facilities, Splash Academy and Entourage, will be moved to Deck 6, taking over a space previously occupied by library and café facilities, which will be converted into a new Library and Card Room.

After its drydock, Pride of America will restart its year-round, 7-day inter-island cruises from Honolulu, providing passengers nearly 100 hours of port time across four Hawaiian islands, including overnight stays in Maui and Kauai.
