Hankyu Travel International to Charter Ponant’s Le Jacques-Cartier for Exciting 2027 Japan Cruises
Hankyu Travel International has announced plans to charter Ponant’s expedition vessel, Le Jacques-Cartier, for three cruises around Japan set between March and April 2027. This notable event marks the first time a Japanese travel agency has exclusively chartered a Ponant ship for international tourists.
The cruises, spanning 12 nights, will depart from Kobe and Yokohama, exploring the beautiful western Japan and the Seto Inland Sea, home to over 700 islands.
The itineraries promise an immersive experience, featuring Japan’s natural beauty, local delicacies, historical landmarks, traditional culture, and modern art. The first cruise, entitled "Timeless Voyage of Refinement," will commence in Kobe, making stops at various locations including Inujima, Miyajima, and Busan in South Korea.
Another itinerary, "Journey to Hidden Gems in Japan," also beginning in Kobe, will include sights at Tsushima, Yakushima, and Nagasaki, among other destinations. The third cruise, "Essence of Japan: Modernity and Tradition," is scheduled for March 13 and coincides with the cherry blossom season, visiting locations such as Tagonoura and Kumamoto before concluding in Kobe.
These cruises aboard the 184-guest Le Jacques-Cartier highlight the collaboration between Hankyu Travel International and Ponant, aiming to provide a rich exploration of Japan’s diverse culture and landscapes for international visitors.
