Fincantieri Unveils TUI’s Latest Ship: Mein Schiff Flow Launched in Monfalcone, Italy
On May 30, 2025, Fincantieri launched the Mein Schiff Flow, the second vessel of TUI’s InTUItion-class, at its shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy. This 160,000-GT cruise ship embodies a joint venture between TUI AG and Royal Caribbean Cruises, focusing on sustainable maritime innovations.
The launch ceremony was graced by key figures, including Daniele Fanara from Fincantieri, Cristiano Bazzara, and TUI Cruises CEO Wybcke Meier. Designed for dual-fuel propulsion, Mein Schiff Flow can utilize both liquefied natural gas (LNG) and marine gas oil (MGO), with future capabilities for low-emission fuels like bio-LNG or e-LNG. It is equipped with environmental technologies such as catalytic converters compliant with Euro 6 standards, shoreline power connectivity, and an advanced waste treatment system that converts organic materials into recyclable components.
Set to enter service in mid-2026, following its sister ship Mein Schiff Relax, which was delivered in February 2025, both ships represent a significant collaboration between Fincantieri and TUI Cruises, aimed at enhancing energy efficiency and minimizing environmental impact within the cruise industry.
