Disney Unveils ‘Discover Your Destiny’ Mentorship Program to Empower Future Leaders

Disney Cruise Line has launched the “Discover Your Destiny” mentorship program in advance of the inaugural sailing of its new ship, the Disney Destiny. This initiative aims to foster creativity and open the doors to artistic careers for students in communities near its ports.

Designed to extend Disney’s storytelling into classrooms, the program includes mentorship, hands-on experiences, and professional development for educators. Collaborating with local organizations, Disney plans to connect students with entertainment professionals, offering resources that will help them nurture their talents in theater, music, and the arts.

Beth Thibodaux, director of external affairs for Disney Signature Experiences, emphasized the importance of nurturing future storytellers. She stated, “Discover Your Destiny gives students the chance to dream big, learn from Disney experts, and see firsthand how creativity can shape their future.”

The program will create opportunities for both students and teachers in various key port locations. For instance, in Broward County, Florida, students from Junior Achievement South Florida will get an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at Disney Cruise Line entertainment aboard the Disney Destiny. In Brevard County, students from Endeavour Elementary School will receive guidance from Disney entertainment mentors as they prepare to stage their inaugural production of 101 Dalmatians.

The initiative will also extend to the Bahamas, where communities in Nassau, Abaco, and Eleuthera can participate in a 10-week professional development program aimed at integrating arts into school curricula. Through this partnership, Disney is collaborating with the Shirley Hall Bass Foundation to enhance performing arts education and deliver immersive theater experiences.

Additionally, both shoreside cast members and shipboard crew will volunteer in these programs, forging significant connections and celebrating the impact of the arts. Disney’s past investments in youth programs have laid the foundation for this new initiative, which reinforces the company’s commitment to empowering young individuals and paving their way towards careers in entertainment.

After arriving in Florida earlier this month, the Disney Destiny is set to embark on its maiden voyage on November 20, 2025. The LNG-powered ship will operate four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and the Caribbean.
