Lifeboat Incident on Carnival Dream: A Closer Look at Safety Protocols During Routine Tests
A lifeboat incident occurred aboard the Carnival Dream while it was docked in Cozumel, Mexico, during a routine safety inspection on November 19, 2025. The lifeboat, which was being lowered, experienced a malfunction when a latch caught on one of the lowering cables. This mishap caused the lifeboat to hang dangerously from a single point before it ultimately detached and plunged into the water.
Fortunately, there were no injuries reported as a result of this incident. Photographs taken at the scene showed the bright orange lifeboat suspended at an angle before its fall and later adrift in the water near the pier, with parts of it still attached to the ship.
