Virgin Voyages Unveils New Land-Based Entertainment Production Arm
Virgin Voyages has unveiled a new entertainment initiative named "Screw It, Let’s Do It Productions," which will bring its original shipboard shows to land-based venues. This venture aims to adapt productions from its cruise ships for performances in Virgin Hotels and other partner locations. The first land adaptation, called "Booked," is set to premiere in 2026, while the popular "Scarlet Night" celebration will debut at Virgin Hotels in Las Vegas and Shoreditch in the following year.
Nirmal Saverimuttu, the CEO of Virgin Voyages, emphasized that this initiative highlights the high quality of the cruise line’s entertainment offerings, designed to continually evolve. He pointed out that new shows and improved ship amenities have positively impacted the commercial success of the Scarlet Lady’s itineraries originating from Miami.
In addition to the new productions, the Scarlet Lady has recently undergone major renovations, featuring 24 redesigned suites, new VIP cabanas, and a Chinese-inspired dining venue named Lucky Lotus. The ship’s entertainment slate now includes "Booked" and "Persephone," a contemporary retelling of a Greek myth.
The production of "Booked" is a collaboration with No Ceilings Entertainment, whose leaders will join an advisory board alongside other notable theatrical producers to guide this new entertainment venture. To facilitate the creation and rehearsal of these new productions, Virgin Voyages has established a 30,000-square-foot rehearsal space in Orlando, equipped with full-scale replicas of its onboard performance venues for proper workshops and rehearsals prior to launching shows.
