Hapag-Lloyd Cruises Introduces Innovative 2-Fare Structure for 2025 Bookings
Hapag-Lloyd Cruises has announced a significant change to its fare structure for bookings made on or after December 2, 2025. The cruise line is replacing its previous three-tier pricing system with two distinct options: PLATINUM and SILVER. This move aims to simplify the booking process while addressing customer demands for transparency and flexibility.
Clas Eckholt, Vice President Commercial at TUI Cruises, explained that the switch to a two-tier pricing model is intended to streamline decision-making. The PLATINUM fare will offer enhanced flexibility, including a one-time free rebooking option up to 90 days before departure and cancellations up to 180 days prior, subject to a small processing fee. For bookings involving longer voyages of 22 days or more, additional assurance will be provided for early planners. PLATINUM fares will also allow guests the freedom to choose their cabin or suite category, along with early access to book shore excursions.
The SILVER fare will continue to offer the same service scope as before, with cabin assignments made by the cruise line at the journey’s onset and the ability to book shore excursions available only after 14 days of publication.
Starting with departures from January 3, 2026, Hapag-Lloyd Cruises will further enhance the onboard experience by providing complimentary soft drinks throughout the day for all guests. Core amenities, including champagne on arrival, a daily replenished minibar, 24-hour in-suite dining, gourmet full board, and itinerary-specific experiences like Zodiac excursions, will remain unchanged.
For existing bookings, the original terms and conditions will still apply.
