Mein Schiff 5 Enters Dubai Drydock for Scheduled Maintenance: What You Need to Know
TUI Cruises’ Mein Schiff 5 has entered drydock in Dubai for scheduled maintenance and refurbishment, thus pausing its winter operations in the Middle East. The vessel, built in 2016, completed several regional voyages before ceasing service on January 8, 2026, and is slated to resume operations on January 20, 2026.
The maintenance visit is routine, with the ship moved a short distance from its berth to the drydock, where preparations for refurbishment included lowering lifeboats and tenders. The drydock not only covers technical inspections but also incorporates several upgrades. Notable enhancements include the installation of a new LED wall in the theater, improvements to the sound system, a new scoreboard for the arena, fresh carpeting in the Atlantik restaurant, and updates to selected suites.
After completing the refurbishment, Mein Schiff 5 will restart its 2025-2026 Middle East season, which features 7-night itineraries from Dubai and Doha, stopping at various ports in the United Arab Emirates, Oman, and Qatar, including Sir Bani Yas, Abu Dhabi, and Muscat. Later, in early March, the ship will embark on repositioning voyages to Europe via Africa, concluding its journey in Spain.
