MS Birka Gotland Unveils Exciting 2026 Baltic Cruise Programme and Destination Highlights
In the 2026 sailing season, the Swedish-flagged cruise ship MS Birka Gotland has announced its destination cruises, offering new and exciting itineraries in the Baltic Sea. As the only purpose-built cruise ship in the region, Birka Gotland will primarily connect the ports of Stockholm to Mariehamn/Aland and Visby.
This year’s schedule includes traditional call ports along with expanded itineraries that introduce several new Baltic destinations. Notably, the cruise program now features trips to the High Coast of Sweden, Bornholm, and Riga. Additionally, there will be two late-summer departures to Gdansk in Poland, occurring on August 30th and September 13th, 2026, coinciding with the seasonal change from summer to autumn.
While in Gdańsk, passengers will have the opportunity to participate in various shore excursions, allowing them to explore this historic Hanseatic port and nearby Baltic resort of Sopot, where they can learn about local amber craftsmanship and taste regional delicacies.
The operator, Gotland Alandia Cruises, has designed the 2026 season based on the success of the extended Visby season in 2025. This foundation led to the decision to continue sailings from spring to early autumn, adapting the itinerary to include more family-friendly destinations that accommodate the rising number of family travelers aboard Birka Gotland. These enhancements will complement existing services between Stockholm, Mariehamn, and Visby.
