The Ritz-Carlton Yacht Luminara Unveils Exciting Expanded Itinerary for 2027
The luxury cruise vessel, Luminara, operated by The Ritz‑Carlton Yacht Collection, is set to expand its offerings with new voyages for the 2027 season. This 794-foot yacht, which launched in mid-2025, will introduce itineraries to Alaska and Asia, alongside trans-Pacific crossings that connect both regions.
The upcoming schedule features fifteen voyages to Alaska, four Pacific crossings, and two extended journeys combining North America’s northern waters with various Asian ports. The itineraries aim to include well-known destinations as well as less frequented ports that are often overlooked by larger cruise lines.
In Alaska, the cruises will operate between Vancouver and Whittier for durations of 7 to 9 nights, primarily navigating the scenic Inside Passage, which spans over 500 miles of breathtaking glacier-carved waterways. Some itineraries will venture into Tracy Arm Fjord, featuring tidewater glaciers descending to the sea, with optional aerial tours to view the ice fields. Others will visit smaller ports such as Wrangell and Klawock when bear activity peaks during the salmon run.
The Asian itineraries will touch on major and regional ports, including Seoul, Tianjin—the primary maritime avenue to Beijing—as well as Japanese locales like Otaru and Akita. A notable 10-night itinerary will sail between Tokyo and Seoul, featuring views of Mount Fuji and coastal temple visits. Passengers will also have the chance to explore Beijing’s intriguing Forbidden City during a two-day stop, as well as enjoy excursions to Osaka and UNESCO World Heritage sites.
Ernesto Fara, president and CEO of The Ritz‑Carlton Yacht Collection, emphasized that the 2027 summer program aboard Luminara is crafted to highlight exploration at sea. He noted the combination of expanded sailings in Alaska with new visits to Asian ports while maintaining the brand’s focus on luxury and personalized service. The cruises are designed to offer guests a unique experience of two distinct regions through a seamless and meticulously arranged schedule.
Luminara is the latest addition to the fleet, alongside sister ships Evrima and Ilma. Delivered in July 2025, Luminara features 226 suites, each with a private terrace. Onboard amenities reflect Ritz-Carlton’s high-end hospitality, including a spa, a marina platform for direct water access, multiple pools, and a variety of dining options.
The launch of Luminara coincides with a growing trend among hospitality brands to expand into the cruise industry, with names like Four Seasons, Aman, and Orient Express announcing or planning ocean-going vessels that aim to replicate their luxury hotel experiences at sea.
