Set Sail with Virgin Voyages and iHeartMedia: Introducing “On Air at Sea” Podcast-Themed Cruises!
Virgin Voyages is set to introduce a new themed cruise program called "On Air at Sea," in collaboration with iHeartMedia. This initiative aims to blend traditional cruise experiences with live audio programming tailored around popular podcast franchises. Each cruise will revolve around a specific podcast brand, featuring live recordings, interactions between fans and podcast hosts, and bespoke shore excursions in Bermuda.
The series will launch with its inauguration voyage named "Stuff at Sea," departing from New York on October 2, 2026, aboard the cruise ship Valiant Lady. This five-day journey will spotlight three shows from the Stuff network: Stuff You Should Know, Stuff They Don’t Want You to Know, and Stuff Mom Never Told You. Attendees can expect the hosts to record episodes live, engage in meet-and-greet events, and participate in various themed activities. The podcasts’ topics range from science and history to conspiracy theories and cultural discussions, showcasing the breadth of content available through the Stuff network.
Both companies aim to transform the podcast experience into an interactive one by fostering a communal atmosphere where audiences can connect with the creators they admire. This venture aligns with the growing trend in the cruise industry towards themed voyages that cater to niche interests and fandoms.
In addition to these podcast-themed cruises, Virgin Voyages has plans for other specialty trips. Notably, a five-night cruise for alumni and supporters of Pennsylvania State University is scheduled for August 3, 2026, aboard the Resilient Lady.
