MS Europa 2 Sets Sail to Kick Off Nanaimo’s 2025 Cruise Season
Port Nanaimo on Vancouver Island commenced its 2025 cruise season with the arrival of the ultra-luxury vessel MS Europa 2, operated by Hapag-Lloyd Cruises. The ship docked at Nanaimo’s cruise terminal on April 21st.
Built in 2013, MS Europa 2 accommodates around 500 guests across 251 suite-class staterooms, each featuring a step-out balcony. The visit to Nanaimo marks the first of four scheduled cruise ship arrivals for the city this year, as it aims to establish itself as a boutique port within the Pacific Northwest.
Currently, the ship is on an 18-day round-trip itinerary that includes stops at Los Angeles and Vancouver, along with other destinations such as Victoria, Seattle, Astoria, Eureka, Santa Barbara, and San Diego. MS Europa 2 arrived in Nanaimo from Victoria at 08:00 a.m. and departed for Vancouver at 06:00 p.m., providing passengers the opportunity to explore local attractions, including the Old City Quarter, the Bastion, and the waterfront promenade.
