Margaritaville at Sea Expands Fleet: Welcoming Costa Fortuna on Board
Margaritaville at Sea has announced its plans to acquire the Costa Fortuna from Costa Cruises, with intentions to integrate the ship into its fleet by late 2026 or early 2027. This strategic acquisition aims to enhance Margaritaville at Sea’s offerings as it responds to increasing demand from its customers.
The Costa Fortuna, built in 2003, has a gross tonnage of 102,669 and can accommodate up to 3,470 passengers, significantly larger than Margaritaville at Sea’s current vessel, the Margaritaville at Sea Paradise, which holds around 1,308 guests.
Upon joining Margaritaville at Sea’s fleet, the Costa Fortuna is expected to undergo significant renovations to reflect the brand’s identity and enhance the guest experience. Planned updates include revamping staterooms, dining areas, and entertainment venues, similar to the recent overhaul of the Margaritaville at Sea Islander, which was formerly known as Costa Atlantica.
While the new name and homeport for the Costa Fortuna have yet to be revealed, Margaritaville at Sea intends to introduce innovative concepts and venues to enrich the onboard experience. Costa Cruises will continue to operate the ship until the transition is finalized, with further details about its future itineraries anticipated as the integration process unfolds.
